Thanks for the comments guys.

Got a bit of work done, block plugged, drilled and tapped. Also enlarged the gearbox holes to 5/16th while i was at it, waiting on bmw oil jets to turn up then they can be fitted then will send the block off to be decked and bored.

Thanks Rick. I just like to get on with the job, don't see the sense in paying someone else to do what i could do if i put my head to it.

Quality work *Yes* is there much difference between the 8valve head and the 16valve flow wise?? With a little bit of work I'm sure the 8v head could flow just as well as the standard 16v or a bit more. I'm just sayin this as I've got a k100 head here was given to me for free. like yourself I wanted the 16v but this came up

Flow rate wise the 8v is rated at 132CFM Inlet, 92CFM Exhaust, where as the 16v is 150CFM and 110CFM.

So overall not too much difference, the main benifit of the 8v in my eyes is the fact that you can get more camber volume in the head.

Got bored with waiting on bits being machined so i've splashed a bit of paint around:

Next job is to bond the roof on and smooth it into the gutters. Then the underneath can have a few coats of grey and the outside a few coats of white.

Seems strange painting something so small. Last thing i painted was considerably larger:

Also nocked up a rear anti roll bar, just gotta make up the drop links when i'm 100% on the ride height:

Me neither, as soon as the paint went on i thought bollocks, not much i can do about it now though, cant be arsed to strip it all off.

Gotta touch up a couple of bits where the paints a bit thin on a couple of the tubes, but all in all not bad coverage considering the lack of room to swing a spray gun.

Just to show i havent been slacking too much.

Now sitting on some 13 x 7's with some yoko slicks:

Engine block has been bored and skimmed:

Machined up some piston buttons:

And drew up and had cut some profiles for a plenum and exhaust flanges:

And brought a TIG to stick them together with:

Yeah, we order £1000's worth through work each month so i can get them at very reasonable prices lol. The exhaust flanges were the only expensive ones at £4 ish each for 10mm stainless. Let me know if you want any and i'll sort them out for you.

I have johnk at specialist components to thank for the engine blockmachining, very good job indeed. And i managed to knock up the buttons.

Thanks for the comments guys.

yeah i may get you to get some exhaust flanges for me as i will have to make my own turbo manifold and a plenum chamber but im hoping to make the latter at work out of carbon if im allowed.
