am i understanding the subframe mounts right, your raising the subframe in relation to the car yeh?

Yeah, that's what he's doing. You cut the ring off the top of the subframe towers and make a spacer (or maybe you could use the 2 alu. tower mount spacers if bodging) to prevent the tower bolt from bottoming out. It is in order to reduce the angle of the top arm on seriously low cars. I think Jimster had a thread on it previously

Yep, spot on.

A bit more progress:

Gussets are now stitch welded in.

Door bars in, I reckon fitting them was on par with GCSE geometry, do GCSEs still exist?

And another shot looking more like a race car by the day.

Looking good buddy, just a side note, have you checked elbow clearance on the door bar, as mine is a little too high for my liking now.

I've checked my elbow clearance and it's all good, I initially mocked them up with a bit of string and must have had the seat in and out a dozen times before I was happy.

Also I've took you advise and only done the door bars on one side for now to make it easier to get in and out the car.

Having done the door bars I am really impressed just how quickly your cage went in.

And I made a bit more progress after watching the Bernie & Max show this morning:

Door bars welded up, really pleased how these turned out.

Roof bars.

I don't suppose you've got a picture of the subframe towers.

I'd like to do this to my car, but didn't now how to go about it.

Good progress too, I'm liking all the neat little touches going on this.

Andy, my subframe towers are currently as they left the factory, although they will be getting tweaked later.

Here's todays progress:

I also managed to fully seal the rear bulk head, which was a frustrating job but needed doing and probably easier to do before I fitted the rest of the cage.

Now off to look at Andy's & Advantage's builds to work out how to do the rear.

I don't know, it's taken a little over two years to get this far.

Not quite, it's actually off the Midget (first thing I did to the car was to fit a Motalita one) just using it for mock up and keeping the decent one clean.

On the home stretch now, just the passengers door bars to do. Annoyingly I blunted my last hole saw this morning and every where was closed other wise I'd be done.
