Another quick photo dump.

Firstly I tried to sort my wavy parcel shelf by adding swaged holes and it didn't work - so I cut it out and put a proper shelf in.

I also popped another door skin on the door I hadn't done, as after taking the paint off I found some damage and a lot of filler.

Then I got the car ready for Epoxy (a shite job - lots of sanding) and now it's primed to hopefully protect it a bit from the rainy cold weather we're having.

And now letting the expoy 'set' before moving onto proper prep, filler and then primer.

Quick update. Flatted the epoxy back, did seam sealing (badly, messily) and now it's in high-build.

Small steps but at least they're forward steps!

Feel like I've done quite a lot since I last posted, but mostly it was just flatting things back. Then doing more primer where I'd rubbed through, and so on.

Anyway, the underbody is now raptor'd, and the sills painted. Onwards we go.

Big thanks to Mr Jessop who has coached me through most of this so far.

Looking good, this is always the stage I find most unenjoyable about a restoration.

Bit more paint. Not super happy with the quality, but I suppose it'll do.

Typically annoyed at the finish so far and blah blah but hopefully I can flat it back and fix.

Progress. Dropped the shell over at a mates bodyshop (Bodytone in Bracknell) and they painted the outside, doors, bonnet and boot. I wanted to do it originally, but I wasn't super happy with the finish I was getting with the inside, so thought better of it.

I guess this is the half way point of the project.

Looks amazing!

Is it a case of ‘simply’ putting it back together now?
Or will anything change?

Yeah, pretty much just lob it together. I'd like to revisit some bits later, but for now I just want it to be a car again - so the dizzy etc can stay! :)

Sorry for the lack of updates. I post a few bits on Insta but I've got lazy.

Started chucking bits onto the shell. Taking ages, but I don't want to rush this bit, as it's supposed to be fun!

Then fitted the cage (trying not to scratch the shell)

Also gooped up the cavities

And some boring 3d printing..

Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Some good progress there and some nice details.
Out of curiosity, what cage is that?

A custom cages one. I dont like it, it doesnt fit very well. I wish I'd gone for the safety devices one.

In which areas doesn't it fit?
Is it a generic cage or T45 / Historic?

I didn't have much luck with any of it. And they sent the wrong weld-in feet. The worst bits are the front leg/feet, and the b-pillar mounts.

Just buy something else.
