changed head gasket last night

run the cur up for a few mins last night but not much as it was very late all seemed fine

right run it up this morning on choke to get engine warmed up, everything was fine untill i stopped running choke and it did the same but not as bad as previous, i had smoke from the exhaust and from the turbo area on idle revved up a bit and it cleared slightly

so still no go

have also noticed some black sludge on the back of the block yet it a new engine on fresh oil, could the turbo be causing this? it was fine when i removed it about 6-7 months ago and its just been sat on the shelf

Wolfie really sorry to hear that it wont be ready :( So many people struggling none of us are going to make it!

just taken the turbo off and its fucked

i have bronze coloured shavings on the casing between the snails and the elbow is covered in oil

Glad you have found the cause buddy!

Give the engine and box a good flush out to make sure no bits of swarf have got into the motor though!

depends on the shaft wear neil,are the wheels touching the casings ?only way to find out is to hiok it all apart.im assuming its a t3.
