1st to provide proof of a running Bimmy Conversion!

Brisbane ,Australia

Yeah that`s why Greg Temkin went the 850 block route, he worked all that lot out so makes it easy for us *smiley* Thanks Greg, you`re a champ *smiley*

unless you just want to fly cut the block to suit the valves but i`m thinking that the shrouding would be a major problem & maybe not make it worth while. i`ve offset bored an 850 block allready , but have yet to sort the mains etc to fit the crank.

& yeah Jimster, i have a friend of mine who races in the Litre sprint car association at the speedway here in Aust with an 8v OHC ford telstar(mazda 626) head on an Alloy cosworth block & it just Boogies to the max, mega torque down low but still pulls 10,500rpms,,,Just astonishes me, jaw dropping stuff really. similar head design as the 8v bimmer. the 8v bimmer is much more avaliable & plenty less expensive & i can`t see why it wouldn`t work VERY well for the average mini donk. It would be interesting to get a "Back to Back" dyno shootout of an 8v & a 16v engines of the same capacities hey?

Its a reasonable article though journalistic enthusiasim has taken over in places, few glaring mis-quotes and it didn't mention the fact that Simon @ Morspeed did the block work, head welding for mine and is in the process of putting kits together for those inclined to go this way. why don't they let you proof read first?

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

Pete - I'm glad you are launching the magazine look forward to seeing first issue soon - maybe we could have a group K1100 thrash next year when Antman and a few others are on the road?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I'll be keeping 5-ports if the injection works out...

And probably opening a big can of whoopass on a good number of 16v offerings in the process.... Not that I'm coming to Avon in 2007 given the 'great' organisation of the 06 event. :(
