AS we've said though the flywheel figure is approx and was going on Mike's experience of the rollers. It does give a figure of what some people were expecting of they're cars, two roughly std metro turbo's - 95ish bhp, my std mg metro engine - 72bhp, giallofly was expecting 160ish and he got 163 so all in all seems pretty reasonable figures.

the 30% rule is, as a few people have pointed out, basically a load of rubbish. It sort of works for cars wit 100 to 150 ish BHP, but it's still only a rule of thumb.

what ever the losses thought the gearbox were i was still the slowest car there anyway i think, unless i was losing 90% of power through my gearbox no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

end of the day the wheel figures are accurate and can be compared across the cars that were there on the day :)
