Well after an epic Saturday and Sunday morning involving 2 breakdown trucks and me getting 1 1/2hrs sleep, I eventually got to the long awaited Anglesey trackday on Sunday.

Despite the bbc website weather section having advised me that it was going to be shitty and raining, the weather was clear bright and sunny, ideal!

Heres some video of me lapping for those who may be interested-

http://media.putfile.com/Tour-of-Anglesey

Towards the end of the day the suspension started to make a slight "clunking" noise, so I investigated and found that a steering rack joint had play in it, probably from some "enthusiastic" use of the kerbs. Anyway, this will be sorted and the next outing will be Castle Combe charity day.

That was my first trip to Anglesey track actually! Its a great little track though, not too long so you can get to grips with it easily, although its hard work as there is very little "breathing space" between twisty bits! Its just a shame its such a bloody long way to get there!

Its just a standard spec Mi16 at the moment, different filter and exhaust, 170 bananas last time it was on the rollers.

Herefordshire

indeed looks a fun place to be, maybe next year....

though you need to clean that annoying fly off the windscreen on the passengers side

Unfortunately it's not a fly but a "bullet" hole in the windscreen, however the screen is OK to pass the MOT so it will be staying there for the forseeable as it would be just my luck to change the screen and then some dick in a Caterfield to go off in front of me (as they often do) and spray me with gravel busting a new screen!

ooh errr,

looked like you knew it pretty well, I had a 16v astra and judging by the way you greased past that white one that thing shifts.

If you watch carefully I actually pass it quite soon after going out, and then actually manage to lap it a few laps later..........!!!

I seem to be able to pick up most circuits quite quickly, I suppose it helps that I am confident in the car and know its abilities. Some would call me a maniac I suppose!
