What a wanker on Minifity.. I wouldn't fit that in any engine ever. It looks shite, and also, the child making them is not that very techical minded. Id fork out £59 for the Minimania one any day.

KC had some troubles with his, so they're not on his website yet. he's waiting for another batch made.

I would rather buy KC's than the one made by minimania. The minimania version is mounted by drilling 3 holes in the casing, while KC's version needs no new holes. At least that is what he has written on the minimania board.

i just reread the above, i didn't think about the fixings,

I suppose theres sod all chance of doing a minimania style one on std fixings that won't be a bit flappy with out resorting to thick material.

also, will they be able to fit a remote box?

I have made on for myself, that is pretty similar to the minimania style and fits a remote box. I have mounted that by drilling and tapping two holes, one in each corner of the box on the same side as the mainshaft. Then I have mounted it to the bolt fastening the CPU. Thats all and the aluminium is pretty thin (1.2 mm comes to mind), still it has been okay for the last two years in my 1191 cc engine.

Its made after Marcel Chichacs (sp?) drawing.

That's what's so genious. Simple and effective. Why have a fancy overenineered plate down there? It works.

I agree on that, I can not see a point with a plate covering the whole box really, eventhough I have made mine like that....

I've tried one of the mini mania ones - its sitting in my cupboard in the garage as I couldn't get the thing to fit for love nor money when racing to finish the K16 motor earlier this year- it wouldn't clear the con rod bolts on std stroke 1275 crank - even when they were down to + 1 thread out of nut - wasn't prepared to spend any more time frigging around with it.

Sprocket - if you want this one as a template of how not to do it pm me your address and I'll send it down

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

I can see the theory behind this but a couple of concerns, surely the piston reley on oil splash for cooling plus the cam would surely suffer due to less lube.

Do you think this would be better with under piston oil jets?

Ofcourse i am thinking race engine.

I would have thought that it would do okay without, as then it would be like the inline A series. anyway, I think that undercrown jets and a crossdrilled cam will take care of these problems.

I know piper supply cross drilled cams, they seem to be bore through it's length and an oil hole on the low side of the lobe.

I would imagine this and undercrown jets would be OK.

you are correct, they are drilled like that, I have one in my engine

I think I'd rather have a bit less oil there (which is ok Judging By inline A's) rather than the posibility of unfiltered oil being thrown up by the box onto the cam and bores.

considering the cams with a turbo will be pretty mild I doubt cross drilling is nessacerry.
