Yeah mate, its just in for show, havent fitted that pipe properly yet, need to make an adaptor for the inlet manifold servo takeoff.

Cheers for pointing it out though mate *happy* good to see people chipping in as some people might not have known that info.

just been thinking about the actuator hose, would it be worth having it hard piped instead of the silicone stuff?

wondered if when being pressurised it would flap about a bit like a high pressure water hoses that fire men use?

i'm sure my old 5 used hard piping for some of the actuating circuit

Yeah but its only 2 very short pipes as the actuator and turbo take off are so close. would of though it wouldnt be any easier or better with hard hose.

Got it running, engine is very tight though, barely turns over on one battery. Runs for about 20seconds then cuts out at the mo so not 100% sure why. Everything is still a bit lashed up. I am tempted to pull the lot and start the winter rebuild early though, get ahead of the game and all that! But wouldnt mind getting it on the road this year, hmm dillema!

Been there done that *smiley*

Solenoid and oil pressure arent even fastened down plus the battery gets taken off every night to charge so it doesnt get left.

Good point though *smiley*

Thanks for looking out for me *smiley*

A small comment from me

Move the long head stud from the middle at the front where it is now to the left hand end at the front.

Then you can use that extra length for mounting the coil!

Yeah i know mate, was already in the block and me being lazy didnt move it. Heads coming off soon for a grind so ill do it then. cant do it now otherwise ill have to change the head gasket *smiley*

Going to drop the CR so i can up the boost. Might give the head a bit of a paint as well! at the minute that was the last of my worries. Its not being built to look pretty at the moment! lol! *happy* will do soon though.

I dunno, if you can get a spare stud and the just move one at a time (e.g move middle one and bolt back up before moving end one) with the engine cold you would probably get away with it?
But not enough of a worry to risk I suppose.

Makes me think I should pull my finger out and get some pictures of mine on here.

There is enough stud to bolt the coil on anyway just! Not worth the risk at the mo, i can always bolt it somewhere else. Ill be fitting new studs with the new head anyway and its going to be in the next few months. Need to get the pwoer up.

Yeah yeah *smiley* hadnt got any other bits! and couldnt afford the lightened flywheel and bits just yet so its got to stay! Luckily its an early one so had inertia ring gear fitted.

More wiring done last night, now you can start the car from the inside rather than under the bonnet! Woohoo!
