i bought a cheap Mitech 200A ac/dc tig a few months back, so far its been fine apart from the footpedal that TNT broke. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Inverter-DC-AC-TIG-W...VQQcmdZViewItem Sorry to drag up an old thread. I'm looking for AC/DC tig. This guy has still got 100% feedback. Anyone got any experiences of these machines? Try searching the feedback, and message as many past buyers as you can. I decided Id spend more, and buy from a UK source, with UK warrantied machine, in case of the worst. Who knows, its probably made in China anyway. Id say by some of the areas of the instructions, it prob has some chinese parts in it. But, so far so good... Now I want a plasma cutter though to cut bits up to weld easier lol 9.85 @ 145mph

if anyones interested. was guna make one as per that site, but for a smidge over £300 notes the ebay effort is worth it for the parts alone.. it's the £189 delivery charge that takes it to £500! i realised that after i posted but still a bargain if they are or can be made reliable.

Just asked what discount I would get if I ordered the 200A AC/CD Tig and the CUT-40 Plasma Cutter.

If you search, they do combined Tig/Plasma cutters.

A plasma cutter and an inverter based TIG are very similar .... I am looking for a torch that I can attach to my inverter TIG in the hope of saving myself a few quid .... any suggestions on where to look? 5 pin DIN plug for control switch, 3/8th BSP for gas connection and normal euro style barb conector for the main current. Every day is a school day ...........

I prefer to have the current control on the torch ... decades of racing RC has given my thumbs far more control than my ankles .... Every day is a school day ...........

I spent just under 20 years racing 1/10th electric off-road and the last few years I have been racing 1/8th rallycross.

I started out with a tamiya fox in about 83 then came hotshot and from there got a bit serious with cats from 87 onwards. Used to love it, did the nationals etc, great fun.
