Yes I agree 'Paul' is a total asshole and should not be driving given what i have read, its just the newspaper ommited that virtually every person replying to that thread told him what a wanker he is and only printed the bit about him laughing it off.

sorry if that came across as if I was on his side.

minimole23,

not a rant at you mate, not at all. Just pisses me off the bullshit that gets printed and influences average Joe's opinion negatively and gives them only one side of the story. I can not convey how much I hate the gutter press, to my mind they have been directly responsible for many of the problems this country has seen!!

To my mind local rags are the worst as they will sensationalise anything that might get one of their sorry wastes of ink off the racks.
Once my old local rag published a full page spread on my mate being a "local treasure" for some excelent charity work he did one week then the next printed how he was an "animal" for hitting a chavy shitbag in a "street brawl" and printed no mention of the fact the little scuzbucket was trying to nick his car at the time!!!!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Or possibly not a great driver .... after all the disgraceful driving test in the this country only really teaches you how to get around a car park ..... nothing about car control at speed at all!!!!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

i nearly stacked my mini tonight!
that could of been nasty!
went round a right hand 90 degree corner that i no very very well a bit to quick for the weather condisions (not that fast mind you), although its not that wet its a bit cold and damp though.
went sideways so i very quickly got it on full opposite lock (left) then as it came back round it went sideways again but the opposite way as the first time, i then managed to wack it to full right lock. all of that in a matter of seconds!
very lucky and in some ways pleased in the way i caught it back as i didnt panic and just slam the brakes on as i know that is one of the biggest mistakes people make!
im not saying im the best driver in the world (far from it) but after doing a trackday about a year ago in my mini i feel i no my limits and the cars limits well.
i actoly thought as it was happening this is good by mini lol
i wasent going that quick either rely obviously a bit to quick! im going to check my tyer pressure as i think that may be a bit to high. (24 back and 26 front on 6x10 wheels)

sorry to go a bit off topic but i can see how these things happen so quickly and people get caught out!!

cheers
josh

o/t again but is anyone finding the roads really greasy at the minute? the last 2 nights my steerings been really light, its understeering like mad and anything over half throttle results in lots of wheelspin. Been driving like a granny cos its really twitchy at anything over 45mph ish.

Yes very greasy at the moment. My uneven caster really shows up with the lack of grip.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
