I was talking to a guy at work today who bought his wife a new laptop yesterday, he said he had all sorts of problems with this "vista" trying to get it set up and working, it seems there must be plenty bugs in it yet.

No this is Windows XP.
I get a bubble coming up saying Ive got an excellent signal but little or no connectivity.
I sent an email to my ISP about it and they said the router has to be hard wired to my main PC then I can run the laptop off of that. The idea was to get rid of the PC as its old and takes up too much space.
I bought the wireless router from the ISP (Virgin) on their recommendation I wish now Id taken the FREE modem instead.

I seriously doubt it!

We provide broadband and wireless routers for home working and had exactly the same problem with a sales reps laptop at work. He'd setup his wireless security at home incorrectly as he'd typed his ISP password in as his WPA key and not setup anything on the router.
