cheers for the comments.
just been a naughty boy and ordered a supercharger kit for my car!
plan is to try and stick with the current spec. obviously with reduced compression. and then develop it from there. looking at some of the rr graphs for various conversions. the torque should be great! nice flat curve all the way to the limiter. mine currently peaks at 90 lb/ft @ 4860rpm, hopefully the 'charger will increas that a fair bit!
can't wait!
Dan :)
p.s better take the missus out for dinner before i tell her about the spending lol!

got to be honest and say i am not sure what services they offer, but you could always ring them and ask!

the supercharger kit arrived today. so far i have refitted the head, with decompression plate. and got the supercharger mounted, need to move the coil pack out of the way of the inlet.
the biggest challenge i think i will have is getting the trigger wheel and new crank pulley mounted in the space that is available. but i will find a way.
aiming to be done in time for mitp.

Dan :)

clubman_dan - are you going to be converting from TPS to MAP control..?

If so i would be interested in your TPS set up if it up for sale.

Keep up the good work.

Decompression plate? Werent these a little taboo, or is it a different kettle of fish with super charging?

A friend of mine wants to do this to his clubman. The decompression plate was my only concern with it.

Let me know how it goes!

In the 13's at last!.. Just

You could mod the inlet maifold to take your 45 and that would make a nice set-up.

cheers for the comments.
i would say that the decompression plate is not ideal, but there seems to be a few around that aqre running ok.
next job is to get the head modded so i can get rid of the plate, but it will do for now.
i am swapping to map, so my tps set up will probably be for sale

no problem si, i will let you know when its out of thee car and ready.

got a bit more done today, got the rad out and go the old crank pulley/trigger wheel off.
the inner diameter of the new pulley is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the part of the trigger wheel that sits within it, so i will need to have it machined out a bit by someone. It is also quite wide with the trigger wheel on it, so i will need to rack my brains a bit to get it to fit in the space available, but i am certain there is a way.
cheers
Dan :)

what trigger setup do you have? SC? if you do I will need to machine a setup for a friend over here too.

i am using the KAD trigger wheel, i think it is similar to the SC one, its only fractionally larger than the recess in the pulley, so it won't need much taking off.

i started mounting the carb today, its going to be a tight fit! i had to bend the throttle cable bracket slighltly to get it in there!
i also started thinking about where to put the coil pack, i think its going to end up on the bonnet slam panel, i just need to work out how to mount it so it doesn't wobble about too much.
off to find somewhere i can get my pulley modified tomorrow. then i can really get stuck in.
I am thinking of getting it booked on the rolling road as extra motivation to get it done in time for MITP.

cheers
Dan :)

never did get the car to mitp :( don't know what happened there!
still trying to get the pulley fitted, really pleased with the job done by the machine shop, the fit is spot on!
i am currently trying to fit it all in, as it fouls the radiator bracketry, and the fan cowling, just trying to make clearance for it which is a bit of a mission.
its a bit o/t but i have found a driver for my car, he weighs less than me (alot less!) so the car will definatley be quicker, not sure on the legality though!

only 15 months old and he LOVES cars already, good lad!
