Did the car have oversills on?

If so then all the crap that fell out will have been the oroiginal sill.

I wish as it would have prepared me a bit better for what I found, some git had cut out half the old sills and welded the new sills over the other half.

Rob,

if you look at the Somerford body cat then all will become clear.

There should be what is called a "slinging nut bracket" in there. Whilst it is true that you can get away without I always refit them. Should be a similar unit at the front too. I just bought a full set for Candice's car .... about £8.50 each which I nearly fell over at.

I refit them as they help bridge between the inner and outer sill and help when your average tire centre idiot uses the actual jacking points.

If your planning on running my rear beam design I'd be fitting them ...... more of that over a pint at the next club meeting *wink*

Rog,

Can you post a picture of the sling nut brackets you brought?

I am indeed planning on running your rear beam design, I need to talk to you about that. I won't be around for the next club meet as I'm living in a Hotel in Crawley for my sins.
