I'm starting to scare myself with how much of my A-levels I remember and that I was going to take physics at uni - glad I didn't now I just re-read what I've written and can see why its confusing. Don't want it to look like I'm argueing with Dave though - I'm really not On 23rd Oct, 2009 sim_ou_nao said:

So, I can still not see why an electron beam (in a CRT) which can be bent by a magnet will not qualify as an answer to joey's question.Regards

because it doesnt fire a substance, but a wave - ie electromagnetic radiation in the form of light rather than substance of pure electrons. its all about wave partical duality which i really dont wish to explain right now - its too much first thing on a monday morning On 23rd Oct, 2009 sim_ou_nao said:

How is that question of any use when trying to determine IQ? They may as awell ask ""who wrote this question?"" for as use it would be.

The electron beam emitted from a CRT is bent using magnets, and where it impacts with the screen it reacts with a special substance which then emits light.
There is no sense crying over every mistake- you just keep on trying til you run out of cake. |
