Can you actually break a diesel? a couple of my mates have got diesels and cane the crap out of them, still run sweet as a nut. I don't know anyone who has either. in my old work van i hit the limiter in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th regularly over 65 000miles and i never had a problem with bits popping

Also, check your camshafts every once in a while. They're made of butter and are a fortune. + there are four of the shit buggers. My mum's got an A6 with the same engine.
