What I would do now(and I know this will be a pain) is remove the 'wok' again then (making 100% sure it's out of gear and the coil or ignition leads are disconnected) try and turn it over on the starter.

This way you will rule out if the changes that you have made are causing the problem.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

could lock up the flywheel. but if you didnt change them i doubt it.

to be honest i'd have the wok off and see if it turns with a socket on the clutch bolt. somethings stopping it from turning, although it is difficult to turn over on the flywheel, taking the plugs out helps and gives you some more ideas.

In fact have you tried the starter with the plugs out?

Plugs out, Into top gear, Push car and see if flywheel turns.
If it does it's a starter problem. If it does not turn it's a problem with the crank, flywheel or release brg or worse.
This assumes all the bolts were returned to where they came from.

Working up the BHP ladder.

Take the cover off again Rich mate. For the sake of an hour of work it saves all the guessing.
To check the starter just slip it off, use a set of jump leads +ve to +ve, stick a foot on the motor and jus touch the case. *happy*

The starter seems to be alright as ive turned the ignition while the starter is out of the clutch housing and it spins up very well!!

Im going to try all the bits in the last few post bar taking off the bloomin wok again.

If none of that works ill have to take it off again and have a look.

Oh i just fitted a new earth strap from the wok to the bulkhead so earth-wise should be ok now- not ruling anything out lol!!

Sorted!

Tried turning the engine over without the plugs, no luck. So put the car back on its wheels and took the starter off, tried putting it in gear but it wouldnt go in any, pumped the clutch a bit as i thought that would help and hear a loud clonk.

Tried turning the engine over and it fired up straight away! So strange though, the only thing i can think of is the clutch was stuck open or something, god knows but its ok now.

The gearbox feels very stange now when trying to select a gear though, its free in neutral but as you try to push it into gear it gets stiff then something clonks, gives and it goes into the posistion where the gearstick would be when in that gear! Just feels like its not actually going in to gear at all.

Off outside now to have a play bleeding the clutch slave again, the car hasnt been driven in over a year so hopefully everything just needs a bit of use to get it working ok again.

Thanks to everyone who has helped though, not sure how it actually started working ok now but hey, it is! I feel like ive been on a massive adventure for the past two days lol! So happy it seems to be ok now.

Will post my findings after I've had a mess about with the clutch etc

Thanks again,

Rich
