So what did have you changed between the roller sessions apart from the turbo?

What changes in the head did you make, thats a big difference in power!

Head and turbo, that's it.

Head is a step backwards in a way, smaller valves and exhaust ports, but slightly higher CR. But it's a better suited head for the 998.

The main differance is that the compressor is massively more efficient.

I'm definately interested in fitting a GT17 to my 998, but would like a bit more torque lower down the revs.

I assume the theory is that a lower a/r turbine housing will spool up earlier in the rev range.

Where do we find these lower a/r turbine housings?

excenent result wil, thats amazing power from a 998, and vey close to the 160bananas you wanted. interesting looking at your dynos the torque lines between turbos, the t3 deffinatly hits in hard and the t2 lazily spools up. looks like the gt17 workss good.

interesting also compring it with mine , being 1100cc you can see the low end power difference i have 20ft/lb more at 4000rpm but at 5000rpm they are equal. Also power i have 80hp@4000rpm where you have 60, so mabe 1100 crank will cure you low down loss*tongue* anyway great work

So are these the T2 figures from when you had the very restrictive adaptor plate?
If so - I recall you saying that you found a LOT more power when you made the mods?

That's the trouble with putting up data!!! Just raises more questions!

You're right Dave. Made more power later on, but never had it on the rollers.

Total power was not massively increased, but it did spool up earlier, which isn't reflected in these graphs.

Benjamin, can't increase cc because the regs restrict me to 1000cc.

I plan to try 20psi at Avon.

i think the comp is ok wil its the a/r on the turbine id look at , that deff looks as if its coming in a fair bit up the rpm band ,for what your doing id think youd want max boost by 3k .

theres a .4 and a .37 i think ,they are on some mercs and hyundi , i think .. it all needs investigating axel .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

well done mate that's a great figure.

it's going to fly, And the torque fig really holds on with very little drop off.

one little thing i'd worry about is if your going to run 5 psi over it has been tuned??????

Don't worry, I wasn't going to wack it straight to 20, just a slight tweek monitoring fuel all the time. 20 is the goal. From previous experience, the SU does a grand job of keeping the fuelling ok with boost increases.

Are good show Ben didn't want you to blow it, but yes your right about the SU sorting the mixture out, if your running right in the first place you can some times just turn things up a little with out probs.
