as i found out yesterday at castle combe, 16v novas really are quick! there were three of us, renault 19 16v, mk3 golf 16v and a subaru impreza (which went home on a flatbed lorry- oops!) I was in the 19, and we were haveing a whale of a time taking out cossies (honestly!) when a nova come past us like a bat out of hell on the straight, we were doing 120+, suffice it to say we were impressed! And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

1976_mini, thats what i thought, well at least untill cc. my guess is its the first properly set up nova that i have seen, but not much was touching it anywhere on the track, the only things going round corners better were those running full slicks.
And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

yeah agreed there, 106gti for example, had one for over a year and that would take some mini to beat it on the straights on the roundabouts. |

.. love minis to bits, but a well set up lightened modern hot hatch can make for very interesting competition.
