Dave to be honest I'm not sure if I believe it either, could well be a myth.

And due to our forced induction you no longer need lumpy cams to make power, making them much nicer to drive on the road. Off boost its all very civilised.

For higher power engines, i thought methanol was used as it was cold burning? I also fort that it lowerd emmisions stupidly?

Yes I was just saying that Methanol doesn't have to be used to get that sort of power.

But yes the bigger boys use it. It's bad Stuff, It can blind you if it gets in your eye, and not good if it get on your skin, as a mate used it in his RX once and told me all this.

One of my uncles mates ran meths not methanol in one of them old granny scooters (tube frame bike with a 50cc engine)

The engine melted and the whole thing turned into a bit of jelly(not literally) on the road. Think he got off safely

and the lad next door to our factory had a 4x4 fiesta and ran that on methanol but i think mixed it with petrol.

Timing needs to be alterd by doing this.....doesnt it?

Yep steer clear of methanol, nasty nasty stuff, Ethanol could be worth a go though, dosent come with the same heth risks!!!!

Its the fueling you need to change with methanol...

stiotio is about 9:1 on meth...
