First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

in fear of sounding boring

how many cars do you need?
You'll have the mop, gti, mini, and audi

but then again you might as well get a classic that youve always wanted and itll only go up in value

i know what id do, save an extra 2k, buy an escort cosworth and lock it away for a few years

Some food for thought, bike engined kit car was one I hadn't thought of and is quite appealing.

tricky subject mr tom

personal recommends would be

lancia integrale
e30 m3
series 1 elise
911 sc/3.2 impact bumper

bike engined kit cars sound like a good option, but i've seen people struggling to drive them on public roads, they need really runting to get them going

depends what your after, a cool classic, or some ballistic missile

Dont buy a TVR unless you like looking at the underside of it as you fix it.

Really depends on your budget Tom.

But for all out thrills for the £ i think you got to have a close look at the Caterham or good westy route if this car is to be just a toy.

Then again how about a classic, nioce to see your car go up in value as you drive it.

Agree with Lancia Dleta, Escort and Elan. All of the above wouldn't depreciate surely so think of it as a bank acount you can drive and have fun in.

Bike engined sevens are great on the track but not so much fun on the road due to a clutch action that no matter how you lunch it throws the car up the road .... a real PITA in a traffic queue.

I use my 1973 Carrera RS lwt and Cooper S as rolling bank accounts and although there is no danger off either dropping money it does get to the point where you don't want to drive them for fear of some numpty damaging them. Well that is the case that for me and a few of my freinds anyway, such a shame for such great cars to become nothing more than orniments.

I'd say if your going for a car get a seven style car (RAW striker head and shoulders above the rest at the mement) with a Toyota 4AGE (a BDA with metric fasteners!!). It will reward you on both road and track. One off my friends picked up a near finished one for £1000 last year less engine and by the time it was on the road, including buying and tuning the 4AGE, it had cost him no more than £3k!!!

There comes a point though when you simply can't use any more cars. I know I've passed it. The kit has been in peices for nearly 4 years, S and 911 did less than 500 miles each last year, 944S2 didn't move at all, normal Mini less than 1000 and the turbo Mini has been a spiders nest for 5 years now .... in fact it is only that a friend shares the garage space I know it's still there as I never even get enough time to go to the lock up.

If it was me mate I'd buy something else, something like a jetski or boat or something ..... at least as it's a new toy you'll make time to play with it!!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I was thinking Integrale like some of the others. My neighbour has two catherams and they are awsome fun! I wouldnt mind a mk1 g60 16v golf for track days but cars like that dont really hold value! Old school celica gt-4's are cool too!

Although if I had some half decent money id definately want to build a mk1/2 escort and toy with the idea of a cosworth in one of them!

I must say I really really wish I had bought an E30 M3 about 4 years ago, a mate of mine did and its almost doubled in value, crackers.

Some stuff to think about anyway guys, I've got nearly 18 months to mull it over anyway.
