laygear looks a bit worn, fair old bit of pitting on the teeth as far as i can tell at the minute. Looks like a new gearset is in order.....and an LSD while i'm in there.

i'm on a clubman set so if that one thats broke is 1st gear then its just a std one, which would be a free fix cos i have some std boxes knocking around.

1st gears are strgt cut as std to my knowledge

yeah it's this gearset which uses the original 1st gear so i could be back on the road by the weekend for the price of a gasket set, but it wouldn't be long before its fucked again i reckon.
