I'm a snap on tart as well and despite giving it some serious abuse I've yet to bend my 1/2" breaker bar.

Smart Guy!

mainland europe near ze germans

I got a bit of a mish mash..

gedore sockets and spanners ( very sturdy stuff). but i use a dirt cheap ALDI (german supermarket chain that periodicly sells all kind of stuff..) for metric 1/2 inch and just bought a long 60 cm break bar that is a godsend for providing a counter action for torqueing up flywheels and such.

3/8 inch i have Facom..just that bit more compact to get into the cramped spaces. it is rated the same a a regular 1/2 inch the 1/2 is rated 3/4 ..but it is not cheap.

If i need really big stuff (3/4 or 1 inch) i borrow it from a mate..they have some at the Shovel workshop or use an electric impact wrench..So far the only nuts i have failed to loosen turned out to be fully welded :).

the Gedore 1/2 12 point sockets are used at said mates work for everything including impact wrenches..you shouldn't really but they never break

That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system
