Gotta find a nice diesel V8 - I thought if you do an engine conversion in the states and fit less than a V8 they lock you up!

Nissan 2.8 LD28 diesel is a great engine for Land Rovers. They can be found in Nissan/Datsun Maxima 810 cars on your side of the pond. I've got one in my Unimog and it pulls like a train.

hi TD my mate has had the saem conversion on his 84 landy, it was done with a army wolf tdi lump and gearbox and goes well and a stright forward swap.

untill he forgot to gcheck the gearbox oil level and buggered it up but all ok now.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Some people put the later tdi engine and box in not realising that its permanent four wheel drive using a centre diff and NEEDS a late cv-jointed front axle because the standard uj-jointed front axles break if used on the road in 4x4..
