Gotta find a nice diesel V8 - I thought if you do an engine conversion in the states and fit less than a V8 they lock you up! On 5th Sep, 2011 Vegard said:

Nissan 2.8 LD28 diesel is a great engine for Land Rovers. They can be found in Nissan/Datsun Maxima 810 cars on your side of the pond. I've got one in my Unimog and it pulls like a train. |

hi TD my mate has had the saem conversion on his 84 landy, it was done with a army wolf tdi lump and gearbox and goes well and a stright forward swap.
always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

Some people put the later tdi engine and box in not realising that its permanent four wheel drive using a centre diff and NEEDS a late cv-jointed front axle because the standard uj-jointed front axles break if used on the road in 4x4.. |
