the high lift rockers could have made the valve spring bind on full lift, possibly damaging the spring and then leading to valve failure. this is made more likly if the original springs have been replaced as many people feel you have to fit super strong valve springs for some reason. |

So, i'll ask the question as to what valve springs were in this head?

not uncommon t3tone had a insert fall out of his med head. but lucky for him no other damage was caused. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

well you said it had dropped a valve not a seat. if its the seat thats fell out then id say its down to med.
no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

im confused , in one place you say roller tipped rockers , then another standard rockers ...um which is it ?and what ratio rocker was on the car when it broke ? Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM |

I had standard rockers on with standard springs when i gave the head to med they said the valves were fine but the seat were worn so they put new seats in for me. The role tip rockers i brought but never fitted. i asked them if the standard rockers and that be ok and they said yes. The only thing now guted about is i rang up yesterday and they said they have my head put be three weeks before they can do anything with it. cheers |

at least MED are giving realistic timescales, and you know where you stand. Steve's not a bad bloke, he's a business man, and will only pay out if he is in the wrong. One tip though, stay calm with him, scream, shouting and swearing does not get you anywhere, (as I found out a few years ago, although we have since kissed and made up!)
