Just got round to sorting the leak out.
Right then, what i need to know is.
Is there meant to been oil running behind tha cambelt cover?
As you can see there is oil on the back cover behind the seals.
And you can also see on the right bottom corner where it was leaking from.

Also, where you see the whole in the picture, you can see oil on the lip. is oil meant to come from here or not.
As if it is, then oils going to keep running down, which will just build up no ?

So im not sure if the oil was running down there, which was giving me the leak.

Be greatful if someone who knows about running a belt drive could give me some help..
Thanks alot lads :)

there is ment to be oil there, why would you need the oil seals and gaskets otherwise? *wink*

The oil will drain down in two holes in the main bearing cap (between the two countersunk allen bolts.

Took the ali front plate off.
which was a bugger to get off, coz the wellseal stuck it on good.
had to place a filling knife between the block and plate.
bent the ali abit :( might need a new one.
anyway. i can see the hole where the oil's meant to drain into like you said.
but how can tell where the leak was coming from in the first place ?
cant really tell if it's the halfmoon, as oil comes from that hole and goe's in that area where the halfmoon is.
hoping it was just the cam cover gasket.
dont wanna put it all together then find out it's not the gasket. ?
any idea's ?

Cheers.

I cleaned everything up and placed the the cam plate (that has the seals attched) ontop of my old steel front plate,
just to see if the cam plate (which is ali) was flat, but it's not.
i can see a Gap at the botttom where it was leaking, and even with new gasket on. could this be my problem, or would tightening the bolts up pull the cam plate onto the front plate ok.
im gonna have to use my old steel front plate now, as the ali one is fcked.

what u think ?
cheers..
