Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

ah, well thats the last test for mine Jim and your car will be lighter than mine.

Sorry Jim, i thought you said you had the issue on the rollers.

But i have given mine some jip elsewhere and i havent had any issues yet. Maybe a paddle plate might help? I certainly havent noticed the on off type stuff but get a lot of judder from low revs in first. easy, just bring the revs up and ditch it a bit quicker. not ideal for a road car but ok for anything else.

I recently measured a couple of old covers I found lying about. Odd that the info on that link says a blue turbo cover is like 430lbs. That is pathetic.

I tested them on a hydraulic press, with a modified valve spring tester ( Cant test the one in my mini obviously, although Id be sure it is stronger than these pair. )

I tried testing my own LS clutch first...but it blew the 0-1000psi gauge up lol.

Got a 0-3000psi gauge for it...its max clamp was about 2200-2300lbs

Same test on the Vertos...one made a little over 700lbs at its best. Maybe 725 or so. ( still the 0-3000psi gauge )

The other verto cover settled at around 900lbs maximum

Not all vertos are the same. Its just a case of searching through all the ones you have to find a strong diaphragm.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM
