As long as A-series turbo's are quicker, it won't make a difference one way or the other, 5 gears and 'reliability' is all that matters, not time to the 1/4.

I for one have nothing but respect for Matt's and nic's car and have been very envious of their results on the 1/4 mile and look forward to some more records being beaten this year.

Like someone on the link said, perhaps the hybrids just need more development? I'm honestly (still)surprised the majority struggle to get into the 13's despite the work put into the drivetrains... As i said in the topic on 16Vmini I think you can't compare, the 'hybrids' just don't have the development to match the quarter mile times, most are built as real road cars, the gearing and traction just isn't there for whatever reason.? I've never drag raced and never will so can't comment on the technique needed, but if we could see vauxhall/vtec slips maybe someone with plenty of experience (Carl, Jon, TD etc) could see where the times lost at? As for toms you tube links, sorry not impressed by that argument, I luv the Don and what it is (and does) but how many miles have you done to claim its reliable? Rich Here for the craic..

Who said it has to be "reliable"?? It was not built as a road car that does drag racing, it was built as a drag racing mini, and that is what it does.
