I've always said, the road tax should be abolished, and the 'average joe' who does 10k miles / year in his 30mpg car should be paying sufficiently more on each gallon that 'just' covers the cost of the disc. Some will pay 'over' the odds, others will pay less.

Big problem is nobody wants to sacrifice anything so we all sit in the pub drinking our overpriced beer moaning about the government and cost of everything. If enough motorists would all sacrifice a few days from work all at the same time and call in sick (sick of being ripped off by our communist government), the economy of this country would collapse almost overnight. Its that simple, sit at home and do nothing for 3 days.
