Jimster,,, the cams are std RS cams, 15lbs pressure, but as yet we havn`t dynoed it yet,,, wev`e set up a basic map, had quite a bit of a play with the tune running around the street, but sprung an oil leak out the back from one of our oil drain hoses, so we ripped the head off & fixed that, then we played with the roady manifolds & jigged up to make a batch of them, using that car as the basis for the jig set up,,, so after all that was done we then fitted a brand new Garrett ball bearing turbo onto one of our roady manifolds & dump pipe assys, then we set up the coil-over igniters & all the timing sensors etc with a new computer (Adaptronic) & loom,,, fired that lot up & was running ok,,, still didn`t have it dynoed tho,.,, but then the fuel tank was depositing huge chunks of crud into the system, blocking fuel filters & such , so the tank had to come out & get cleaned & coated & had all sorts of trouble finding a new guage sender (silly i know) so we got all that lot sorted until Bruce (my Machinist) stuffed up the 2nd batch of kits mucking with the program for the pulleys & we needed to take the original pulleys off this car to duplicate them again because we`d sold all the first batch,,, so now it`s all back in there again but we`re in the middle of setting up some big vented 4 pot brakes & adjustable suspension etc while our wiring guy is setting up some more doo-dads with regards to thermo fans on both the radiator & the intercooler, full set of new guages, spot lights, sterio & other fancy stuff,,, so we`re nealy back to square one with it,,, problem is now that i`ve sold the whole lot & when it`s all finished & sorted, then it goes off to the sunshine coast to it`s new owner... i`m making 2 new turbo twinky donks for myself tho *smiley* Both 1170cc 16v turbo injected & with what i`ve learned so far i`m hoping these to be both go just like slot cars *smiley*

also re- building my old 1510cc roady with a K1200 head onto as an N/A roady donk

I have a whole pile of customers twinky engines on the go, including 3 small bores (right Pains in the arse they are) *frown*

also tryting to build a rear deck on my house,,, also trying to get some surfing & mountain bike riding in too,,, so i`m a slow old fella (turned 46 the other day) so i`m getting even slower *smiley*

It`s be good if you could just pop on over here & give me a hand *smiley*

Just out of curiousity, you've only had the one turbo version running? When did you get this running?

& yes Jim,,, I`ve only the one turbo twinky completed at the moment, i didn`t run it in the Monaco fastback tho, but we have it running in the moke

That one in the pic,,, it`s now got a different computer & loom again...

Fastest A Series Mini in the World

leeds/wakefield.

listern fellas, i was sworn to secrecy by Zee Geraamns over this , but i acctually designed a 16 valve head for the A series engine way back in the early 80 , i had it running and in turbo form made over 400 hp ang 370 lbs ft of torque, now this is where it starts to get a little unbeleivable, but bare with me,its all true,
i was at a friends house dinner party , they had some Bavarian friends over to stay, one of these friends was named Hanns Gustaff von ricthoven Snitzell Rapp. 4th genereation of the BMW founder Karl Frederic Rapp. he turned out to be a petrol head and loved the Classic mini, we got chatting and i showed him my newly designed and built engine with a this new 16 valve cylinder head , he was extreamly impressed by its then unique design and relative simplicity,

there and then he offered to buy the rights to use this head, , he had no firm plans for it but offered me a proposal i just couldn't refuse,

he offered me three magic beens, these were special majic beens he told me, if i were to plant them in my garden in spring a very rare and special plant would grow which lead me to untold riches and a life of leisure .
such a good offer i accepted there and then and the deal was done,
As all happened in late 1982 december iirc
now with Hans long gone home i had to take his word and not plant the majic beens untill the spring, which i duely did, april 25 was that day,

my plan was to grow these in secret and once fully grown present this new path to riches to my dear wife,

the weeks went by and steadily a growth appeared, steadily climbing up and up,
untill one day i noticed it appeared to be growing no more,
a little disapointed a gave it the benefit of the doubt for a couple more months, but allas no extra hight was gained,

clearly things were not as they should be, and fearing the worst i confided in my wife about the deal i had done a few months earlier, , she took it quite well and asked to have a look at the plant to see if she could shed any light on the matter,
she took one look at it and screamed out,

ITAS A FUCKING SUNFLOWER YOU STUPID DICKHEAD.

so the moral of the story is if some one offers you some majic beens for a great invention you have tell them to fuck right off , unless you like eating seads .

i was robbed ,if i'd have known he was going to put my cylinder head on a motor bike and sell tens of thousands id have asked fro a twin pack of Kit Kat too.

so there you are, the true history of the K head.
