Rob, you are a legend!

alternate just tax it mate ?! if someone gets hurt and its sat there with no tax, i should add that this often invalidates insurance you will get severely pummled, especially in Scotland what with the Sheriffs....Scary.

axle stands is a load of crap plus you will get done for leaving it in a dangerous position.

you could try putting it on a trailer approach but it must stay hitched up to an insured car if leaving it.

even then its not worth it.

Right, i'm in a bit of a pickle here, I hope one of you can be helpful.

I have my car sitting in front of my house on the street, it is untaxed (tax exempt but lapsed by two months)

I know I was chancing sorning it while it is on the street, but since there is no engine in it I thought it would be obviously undriveable.
This morning I awoke to having a police £60 fine on it, fair enough I thought, my own fault.

What I want to know is, is there any way to get round this in the future as surely the next step will be clamping then crushing or something as equally as nasty.

How about puting it on axle stands with the wheels off? then technically it isn't on the road, lol.

As I live in Edinburgh I cannot afford to hire a garage and I have no other place to keep it.

Thanks in advance guys.

Tony

I would tax it, but it's currently in an un motable state, a good few weeks off it.

Going to get it to my work where it's private ground and work on it after work.

Yeah, tried that, they don't care, all they came up with is hire a garage, they are cheap, and no they are not cheap by any means lol.

all four wheels would need to be off the road, but not on axel stands matey, so towing dolly will not suffice.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Flipping it on it's roof will prove a pain to get the engine in lol.

It's all sorted now anyway, muchos thanks go to Rob and his trailer, it is now safe in my fiance's folks garage.
Bit further than I would have liked to go to work on it, but at least it's safe.

Thanks to all the answers though.
