So they can buy them, but then have to have them machined? I assume the cam journals are sleeved, as if you take much metal off you'll be well under the case depth? Edited by turbodave16v on 23rd Jul, 2008. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I assumed they would be sleeved with somthing hard for the rollers to run on, but you'd know more about that sort of thing. On 28th Aug, 2011 Kean said:

Stuart Gurr built a roller bearing cranked and cammed engine, Im sure he said it was 1293 showing 140ish bananas (what dyno I dont know) and only ran something like 5 psi oil pressure. He sai he could do me one for some ridiculous price, £14,000 rings a bell.
I seriously doubt it! |

I would also like to see an Isky-style "rev-kit" which puts helper springs above roller lifters, to take some of the spring force requirement off the valve springs and keep the lifters in contact with the cam. This arrangement should get the valve spring requirement down to around 160lb for a full race cam. |

The cam journals are reground then the cam is re-heat treated. |

So Ian have you done any rolling road tests of before and after? Just wondering what the difference was if any? Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

What about longevity tests? How well do they stand up to a 310 cam 1.5 rockers and heavy valve springs?
I seriously doubt it! |
