So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Thanks Nick - really nice to see it up and running, its taken a bit of time but you got there in the end!

the capacity and bore stroke ratio of the A means it peaks a little earlier than the bikes, but you will still have a lot of torque at 8000rpm+ - don't be afraid of it!

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

Got it run in and first session on the rollers the other week....

It gave 128 John Kimmins Horse Powers and 105 John Kimmins Torques.

John has a video of it on the Specialist Components website

gosh is that a big torque dip , or just a gear change nick ?

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

that looks like a great engine... cool build

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

The lower line on the dyno curve is Lambda - not torque!

- it must be pointed out that this is a very accurate dyno which is calibrated ruthlessly - no downhill dyno pub figures here.

On the same day we did Nicks car we based lined a K20a powered Z car for another project, on the day it pushed 198 brake, when the car was set up on another dyno - also a dyno dynamics - it produced 227 brake.

Looking forward to seeing how Nicks compares on a dyno day at some point

They are flywheel figures. Think it was about 104 at the wheels.
I think these numbers are about what people can expect from a std build. I have the 1200RS cams (284deg I think) giving peak torque at just over 3k and peak power just over 7k making for a nice road engine. If you want more power at the top end, then you have the option to slide in some fruitier cams/ port head etc..

Nick.

They aren't our rollers but Gary and Chris of APT let us just get on and run them ourselves - linky has details of APT
