There should be quite a good range of head gaskets in OZ, I know a lot of the guys runing 308's and small blocks use some trick copper gaskets. Bound to be something for the A series? I say 11 stud it and some how drop the CR and you won't need one.

PaulH, Head skimmed and block decked by Graham Russell... so all good on that front.

Hario, the k-lining is where brone inserts are fitted in the guides but they have a spiral groove in them... wouldnt run a motor without.

What do you mean by charge cooling? Im running intercooler and thats it...

Stevie, have not tried any other gasket types... not sure whats available down here in Aus.

Cometic in the US make them for the 1275 A-series.

Although they can make pretty much any gasket you want, although no doubt it will cost more.
Ive seen UK vendors selling MLS gaskets too.

Not sure how many guys here have tried them though. They seem to retail for about 15x the cost of a typical BK-450 for the 1275.
I wouldnt say expensive if they work, but compared to the normal stuff, they are expensive.

202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Could detonation be the main factor with the head gasket situation? 15 psi on a 9.4 cr does seem high to me.

oh right sounds innotive, but for what reason? sounds like to promote oil flow but thats bad in a valve guide?
charge cooling is any method of cooling air after the turbo..
big power cosworthturbo engine builders use cometic gaskets, the ford cos. one is well expensive though, isnt copper a good alternative?
