Thought of a couple more as I drove across Lincolnshire this morning:

Most Bizarre
Jon Flan on a push-bike

Most Disappointing
A stationary gold mini - you know who you are.

Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
Stephen Hawking - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

sounds like a missed a good weekend,

Interested to hear about starmag..

Matty, what turbo are you using? was it new?

No wasn't new, but had been rebuilt by me (probably why it fucked. lol). Its a GT1752 and was working really well until I went out and hit 8500RPM last week, ever since then its not been boosting right. Not sure if it was the extra revs that killed it or what? *oh well*

Yeah well impressed with starmags car...definitely a dark horse!

hi all ,
yep ,good fun with the usual crew , mega frustrating for matty although a 97 terminal in that wind on 6 psi isa bit good .good to see mike bcr make it down with his ,intercooler with a car on the back ,
tom and i nearly shot some dum and bass enthusiasts at 3 in the morning may THEY forever be plagued with noisy neighbours !.
prefer the avon camp site for certain .

on my car i was trying a blitz boost controller loaned to me , so did two boring runs at about 4.5 psi ,and got a best of 15.9@82.
so hoicked that off and went back to the bleed valve , massive grip problems and spin up to half track on 15psi ,and not much better on 10 , i think my falkens are done with now .

went up to a best run of 14.5 and 99mph ,my best possible was a 14.24s,realised also that esso 97 is not a patch on shell v power , was getting detonation from about 14 psi ,and v flat engine .
had a good race with a stockish but big wheels blue mini ,and we were fairly neck and neck , turned out to be a 200 bhp vtec ,so that was alright .
just after last run ,engine was a bit ticky ,so pulled off rocker box and adjusted no 1 ex tappet ,and it was ok ,smoking occasionally so may swap turboes ,then on the way home 4 miles to go calamity struck ,ill start a thread for that saga .

I had a quality weekend. I wasn't even going to take the mini until about an hour before leaving. Glad i did though.

Great fun in the convoy and I managed a 15.6 on my third run. Pleased with that, plenty more to come next year.

Spent the saturday at the rwyb runing on the road tyres at getting a 13.8@102 Having done a bit more tuning since avon have managed to improve the terminals but not getting any great et due to spin in all gears. I thought i would try with my new slicks to see what the mini was capable with some proper grip, Lets just say the results were rather good. I was managing low 13's with a personal best of 13.08@104 late saturday afternoon. I then started too get a boost spike and couldnt go any quicker due to a missfire. After much fettling swapping and changing the setup i managed a 12.8@106 on the sunday Lets just say i was rather pleased :)

Well done Star Mag.

I watch that 12.8 run. It really seemed to launch very well. The slicks would explain that.

Robert

V Power GAURANTEED to be 100 octane at the pump

The Esso 97 is probibly around 96 by the time it reaches the pump and Tesco 99 probibly 98 by the time it gets to the pump.

That information is from a VERY good source *wink*
