I saw a few decent Acer ones recently, but would honestly go with Sony or ideally Toshiba... and I would avoid PC World at all costs and go elsewhere if you can |

tradeing standards. they sold you thr wrong product at a higher price. I contacted them....small print and all that bullshit. I refused to phone Acer on their 10p per minute "customer helpline", for obvious reasons. They also wouldnt respond to any of my e-messages, or emails about the matter. I also refused to pay for postage to return the said item which should never have been sent. ( which had to be returned within 7 days if not happy etc ) I ordered a laptop on Friday, which came to £330 after charges etc. Then on monday received an email to say that laptop was "no longer available". So I was forced into choosing another. I chose the next model down, clearly stating I wanted a refund for the difference. Meantime, their prices had mysteriously increased, making the lower model, more expensive !!!! I stated clearly in writing, that under no circumstances was any further monies to be charged to my card. Quite oddly, trading standards nor my card company seemed to think that was important !!!!!! and wouldnt offer any help at all. Because I made a selection, which apparently ties me to their "terms and conditions", my wishes, all of which were put into writing via email, were totally ignored. I will never buy anything off Acer again, or any of their subsidiaries the dirty fucking robbing gypsy bastards. To make matters worse....throughout this entire time, which was about 3-4 weeks, the laptop I originally ordered was always on their websites, and all of their subsidiaries websites, listed as in stock, over 20 units.
they never did explain to me what the term "no longer available" actually meant. Edited by stevieturbo on 6th Sep, 2008. 9.85 @ 145mph
