Must be lucky then, I,ve been using plastic filters ever since I went turbo BUT I always put the filter before the pump to save any crap going through the pump.I change them twice a year, total cost about £2. |

Put them before the pump and they can never see any pressure so no problem (just like on my lawnmower!) but the setup here uses a high pressure pump (one that is usually used for fuel injection) with the filter after it and before the regulator :) Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

Thank you - I do understand, but where is the need for a filter after the pump if you have filtered the fuel before it gets there ?. |

Thank you for the clarification -I have a gauze filter in the tank to filter out dead mice and birds etc and the aforementioned plastic filter after that - -I do wear belt and braces.

If you get the chance get under a Maestro 2L efi or Metro Turbo and look at the size of the outlet from the tank. If the pipe I/D feeding into your pump is smaller than the pump inlet I/D you have a potential problem that can be very hard to diagnose. Own the day
