well thats that. didnt sell guys, 3K and its anyones, plus all me mini stuff.

had some cheb saying the car cant be reshelled into mk3 shell from mk1, infact had quite a few chebs quoting me shite...yet all ask to buy it for a really low price. seriously hacked off now

I nearly sold up all my stuff when we were struggling a few years back, but we got through it and now I'm glad I kept my solid mk 1 shell rather than sell it cheap for a short term fix.

As Rob said before, why not sell the engine, and sell some of your spares, just keeping enough back to put an engine (even if it's n/a) in the shell at some point in the future, then stash the shell away and come back to it when things are looking up.

Sorry to here that richie. Just looked at the auction. The car can be reshelled, but as you know, there would be lots of paperwork to go with that as theres only two ways of doing it legally. If you dont have the papers to prove, then it does look abit suspect.

What about raffling it off? £5 a ticket, minimum sale of x amount of tickets. Luck of the draw then for someone :)

Jordie i have all the paperwork for it ? i have the docs i even have a Point of contact at DVLA who auditted the whole thing ! and i have the full V5 in my name, with the previous keepers details on and the details of the keeper who had it prior (Ireland) fully up to date with its new colours etc etc the vin plates are present, the numbers in the shell match that of the plates. The car is 100% kosher or i would have walked away a long time ago the full document trail could be obtained for the car if needed. Are you Clairefairy by chance ? as the messages had your subtle aroma

Engine Spec:-
1275 metro turbo block rebuilt by myself and BENROSS, waterjacket ported out for better flow, all oil galleries replaced with 1/4 BSP removable plugs, new water gallery plugs, ll stud conversion and center main strap conversion.

running phase 2 cam and top of the range Avonbar oil pump which cost me 69 quid !

crankshaft pollished and new shells replaced.

Cylinder head is BENROSS full works item silica bronze guides new springs and valves.

turbo manifolds have been ported and matched to the head, and the exhaust elbow flowed and pollished to 56mm from stock.

Gearbox is fully rebuilt with metro turbo challenge straight cut set, diff is evolution x pin with taller final drive (cant remember ratio now but its taller than stock)

straight cut drops 1:1 ratio. and billet stainless steel pre verto flywheel double grey diaphragm and rally plate

comes with Dizzy and MJLJ (which needs wiring in) trigger wheel on the engine ready along with a Fenton TM VR bracket

What have you got that would help it to sell - build photo's and receipts? How much would it cost to build an equivalent engine now? Would you be prepared to ship it abroad? How does it compare (as a package ready to run) to the KAD engine that recently sold on ebay?

is it standard bore? what pistons? if standard bore did you rehone and replace the rings?

Standard Bore turbo pistons, bores hones rings / ring gaps checked in order, new shells and thrusts +10thou. arp rod bolts center main strap, you name it it has all been done, not sure what it would cost, would have to go through my statements to find out the total cost of the build. would be prepared to ship overseas as i would the car itself but i would not be paying for the shipping engine is all done needs plonked in the car and MJ wired up or the dizzy and dizzy drive popped in comes with a spare turbo and manifolds all be it stock items in comparison to whats on the engine.

spares to help it sell hmm jesus what dont i have ?! you would need a transit van to get all the stuff, but off the top of my head gucci items include a set of S rods, a couple of 2wd cossworth intercoolers (modded) a pair of 1100 radiators, a pair of doors, lots of glass, two 1275 A series thick walled blocks in mint condition, a further A+ 1275 block, normal rads, oil coolers, a chest of bolts all the pain in the arse ones to get lil nik naks, set of balanced sprite rods 1275 GT crank in good nick, lights and head lights, spats and aroup 5 arches, save cylinders, master cylinders, a couple pairs of 8.4 disc setups still on drive shafts, loads of end casings mix of A and A+, set of original 10x 4.5 wheels ala 1964 which are fucking puke ! set of 10 x 5 wellers, glavanised mg metro petrol tank, rear perspex for mg metro, door handles for mg metro......spare ball joints, tonnes of gaskets, head studs etc, 998cc cylinder head, the original 1964 (i presume as it was in the footwell of the car when i got her) dynamo thingy original dizzy carb manifolds etc, original center switch pannel, headlights, tonnes of spare alternators and various starter motors both inertia and pre engage, spare brake drums, what is left of the original rear subframe all be it mush and fuckin useless ! but its there, and a whole load more shit at my house and in the loft. that is just off the top of my head really

Sorry to harp on, but I think you've a fair bit of of cash tied up in spares (if sold individually) and the engine, and selling the shell could be a last resort.

Id heed this advice deffo.

Stick the T`engine on ebay mate, Start with a low starting price and it should go through the roof.

flog the engine, and all the parts, keep the shell and a stock 1275. you will get enough money from the spares as long as your not gready.

I got just shy of £2k during my clearout 18 months ago when times were hard!

I am myself. I dont know any clairefairy. I was just saying if you can put the trail of paperwork up and the explaination, you would get less messages about the MK3/MK1 thing.

I always thought it was a 1380cc for some reason, kinda disappointing realising its only 1275cc after a year of thinking of a 1380 turbo locally.
