the general thing to do (if not cutting the roof and sometimes even if you do chop the roof out) is to chop a few inches off of the feet of the cage to gain access to the hard to reach bits. then you lift the cage up and it is mounted on "blocks"

...or as they suggest you could use a hole saw on the floor to let the cage fall lower down than normally (below the floor), then weld it and lift it back up into the car before welding the plate underneath the tubes/feet.

think we would like a few more to join here *wink*

I also have gotten feedback from one that has fitted this miglia cage to his mini:

Regarding your inquiry on the Custom Cages roll cage for the Mini:

I found the quality and fitment of the cage to be quite good. The last shop that I worked at was a rally prep shop specializing in Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions and over the years we used many of cages from Custom Cages with excellent results.

I'm going to go for a 6 point with rear seats, not a 13..., which would mean fully stripped.

Lightweight racer coming soon.

WOOOOO!

I was just thinking about this! I was going to put some info up later tonight!

Wierd! Anyway!

Im now at the point where im ready for this, and i have a week off in august that i want to use to get it fitted!

Andre has told me that due to a change of law over in that dark, snowing country he lives in (level 1 warning) he can no longer fit a cage and have the car on the road. So unfortunately he is going to have to back out.

That leaves me and you Joey....just the two of us, just you and I....

If anyone wants to join then please do! If you still want one at the 10% discount price then thats cool, let me know when you want to order, and we'll sort everything out.

I could do with another 2 weeks (next payday) but could stretch if you want it sooner.

Come on people....you know you want one!

Supposably the options are not optional! I emailed them a while ago and they said that all the dotted lines were included. Looking at it, it looks like the dotted lines are the difference between the mig cage and the other one that isnt historic one.

I'm off on holiday next Wednesday for a week (messy one in aiya napa) and then we will sort stuff out then.

Righto, so to get things absolutley straight!!

for the miglia cages:

£"613 or 854" - 'discount' + postage(?)

we will be getting this:

including all the grey'd areas?
or are they going to be extra now?

As im on the island, will they ship direct, or will they be shipping to one designated person to dispatch to the others?

If you could clarify that would be terrific

Cheers James

Right, they have recently updated thier site. I suggest you have a little look.

The prices are the same, they have got rid of most of the dotted/grey lines and they are now all included in the price.

The only optional bar now is the front cross bar that goes over the tunnel and the the passengers triangulation peice that ties that bar into the a-pillar. They are now an extra £71.80 + VAT.

I will ask about shipping when i get back from holiday.

Will you be at any more shows this year Joey? if you are then i could hold onto it and meet you..

We will see what they say.

Oh and we have a third *happy*

Right, seeing as im now back from holiday and back healthy enough to finalize all of this i am going to be phoning up early this week to get all the details confirmed and sort out how we will order.

If i can get them to agree with it then i will arrange for everyone to phone up and order seperately and just mention that you are part of the TM group buy in order to get the discounted price. (Andre you might want to Email?)

If we can do it that way then i will just say to them that the order deadline will be fri 24th? Seeing as there is only 3 of us i'm sure we wont find it too hard to meet that one!

If thats alright with you guys? Saves the hassle of sending all of that money over to one account and then blah blah blah. They may well want it to be done through one account though so as numbers/discount cant be cheated.

So before i phone them is there anything that anyone wants to know about the cage that i can ask them?

oh and if it does has to all go through one account is everyone ok with all of the cages coming straight to me and then i can arrange for them to go where ever you lot want them to go?

Cheers, James.

Right, Ive just spoken to Custom Cages and they would rather it went through one person our end so we will have to sort that out before placing the order.

Our discount will be 20% for the 3 of us. Unfortunately joey it has to be 3 of the same cage, they cant do it 2 miglia cages and 1 historic. Sorry.

Andre: The dash bar is straight and they have no problems with keeping your cage on their site and yo collecting it directly when you come over.

Joey, do you still want me to hold the cage at mine and then meet your mate when he makes his trip?

So fellas, let me know how you want to sort payment? Bank transfer, cheque? I've not set anything like this up before so input is more than welcomed.

Cheers, James.
