well something is wrong adam, have you had the engine out, either the idler gear endfloat is to tight, or a bolt is fowling the flywheel, have you used the 2 holes on the transfer case above the starter, i had this problem once as the bolts were to long and caught the flywheel always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

I was going to suggest this. You need to try turning the pulley bolt with a ratchet!! 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Interesting, ive just started having the same sort of problem today ! turn key - nothing, try again - nothing -try again it turns over ! ? starter? solenoid? I had the same prob with my flywheel aswell the two bolts above starter were used to mount the carb for s charger kit. i also had to long a bolt in the offside engine mount , might be worth checking aswell mate. |

i had a very similar symptom and it was a dodgy starter solenoid when attempting to crank all that would happen is you would get a click I’m surprised no one ever subjected it but I’m glad it was something as simple as the earth strap "Tuning should be a compromise between what is possible and what is necessary"
