Given Roberts performance on the rolling road at nearly 190hp with the GT17, then that would be my choice for say up to 20 psi boost.

The GT2056 should start to deliver the goods above 200hp.

Thanks Wil, more food for thought. TBH I would like a GT17 for the 1310 but I haven't found a reasonably priced good condition one yet.

I came across a Garrett turbo with a .48 compressor and a .63 turbine. My goal would be stock Metro turbo compression and 8lbs of boost. I also plan to place the turbo on top of the flywheel housing, so the exhaust runner would be longer than normal. Comments on what this turbo would do...???

I was thinking that it came down to A/R sizes. This seems to be a smaller compressor and bigger turbine than what I've read about. How do I chose? What are the sizes on the stock T3; I have a Mini with that in it.
What other info do I need? Any help would be very much appreciated.

So Paul did you try this turbo ? How about oil-only core ? I'm also looking for the diesel stuff.

Not yet.

I'll probably be working on the downpipe later today.

Nick has got 190+ hp out of his though.

Sounds like a T25 off a 200sx maybe. Better to start a new thread with these questions. .63 ex A/R is a bit big really.

I was on an old Bosch dyno to optimize ignition....it made 225hp at the crank at 1 bar boost at 7800rpm (LT inlet, RS exhaust cam), the max I ran on the street was 1,2 bar.
The compressor map of the GT 2056 is very broad and effective - I took the CHRA and turbine from a Mercedes (V-band) and fitted the bigger 56 compressor from another turbo....IIRR it was from an Alfa, but no sure anymore?

If I could join the RR sessions in England easily I would run for sure more boost...*smiley*)

with both RS cams I had max power > 8000rpm, engine came on the cam at 4500 - was no fun to drive for me - so I installed the LT for inlet and the engine came to live 1000rpm earlier and loosing nothing at the top - will try both LT cams end of this season.

should have one picture of the dyno runs, but's on a different computer - will have a look for it.

This is the only one I can find:

The important number is the 751578.

They rarely come up secondhand.

I paid £140 for mine. virtually no miles in its original box.
