Cheers sprox, but is this the same as nitriding or not? I could not actually find a defintion in that article.

Yes, Ni-Temper is the exact same thing as Nitriding.

It is a heat treatment process of case hardening using a Nitriding compound such as Ammonia or Cyanides

Ni-Temper is short for Nitride temper.

Tufftride is a trademark. It is a process that uses cyanide compounds.
