Nice video.
Shows how technical F1 has become.

Not that I don't like technical things, however this was real racing without computers... have seen it many-many times but still give me goose-bumps....

Damn I'm born in the wrong era...

Thats a very accurate stab in the dark!

This is FORD country, on a quiet day you can hear Vauxhalls rusting.

Got to love the banter

Yes I work for Williams and Im involved with the KERS Project and have been for a while now.

The vacuum is needed to allow the speeds/efficency, it wouldnt do much in terms of safety there are far greater things in place to deal with contianing it all, I have witnessed a couple of intential failures with Mr FIA watching as the safety has to be proven to them in tests etc.

Its the size of the electric motor giving you the 80Hp that i find most impressive, and the engineering behind the whole system

If I tell you anymore Ill have to kill you *happy*

Back on topic, no its not excatly green but hey its a new technology, and F1 needs some new technologies seeing things like engines are frozen etc

Seems to be storage to be the issue? The generation of the power is there right.

Those inertia dampers Renault used to run must of generated quite a bit of energy or indeed cancel out a lot.

Batteries are old tech and heavy. about time someone reinvented them.

Best of luck

I drill holes in everything..!
