clever stuff, this looking at my 1380 which was around 110 -115 bhp, and that would do about 110 -115 mph on the flat. so seems good.

don't need a 16v head mate, got enough power to rev that high, even if the power drops off, there will still be enough, what i need is a 100% garantee that it's not going toblow it's self apart lol Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

well matt if you have a bolt of diff casing ,you can change the diff in the car ,so how about a 2.75 for general use , then a 3.44 for shoot out mode ? Just fit different drop gears. 0.98:1 or 1:1, you can just pop the flywheel off and change the primary
Edited by paul wiginton on 26th Feb, 2009. I seriously doubt it! |

Is the primary the only one you change them Paul? as i've tried getting the flywheels housing off when the engines in the car and it wouldn't go over the crank, so would be hard if you had to change the others, If that is the case it's a good and quick idea! Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

MiniSpares do 23 and 24 tooth primaries. Iuse 24 primary and 23 (I think) input to get .98 or 23 and 23 to get 1:1. Yes that simple Edited by paul wiginton on 26th Feb, 2009. I seriously doubt it! |

nice one, that is easy then, always thought any gears you change had to be all or nothing as they wouldn't fit. Nice one. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

if you have a set of jack knight 1:1 drops you can change the primary gear with one from the 1.04:ratio sets and it roughly drops you 1 final drive ratio the 1.08:1 set has smaller primary and input gear to the 1:1 and 1.04:1 sets
