Looking good.

Dont shoot me down but, aparently the red dot on the tyres are suposed to be inline with the valve so theres less weights needed.

Really...can anyone confirm this, I never knew they weighted the tyres!

They were supplied and fitted by a Yoko specialist. If this is the case you'd think they'd know better! :(

Cheers for the heads up Rick.

I thought that also. I have had various different sets of yokos on different cars over the years and always have the dot line up with the valve. I have tyres fitted at various places and never asked them to do it. I do remeber thinking I was being wound up by a mate when he told me this just after starting work at a tyre place!

Its true.

Makes them alot easier to balance. I did a wheel the other day and it didnt need any weights! Bonus!

Well every days a school day! *hehe!*

I'll have a look and see how its been weighted. So is the part of the tyre opposite the valve lighter or heavier?

That much i dont know.

I would presume lighter to counter the missing material.

I dont no how or what, il try find out.

I only found out when a mate of mine posted a pic of his cossy up to show off his new wheels and he got good comments apart from they couldnt beleve the dot ans valve wasnt lined up.

I just thaught they were the valves and should get a life and just enjoy the pic of his car.

Obviously i was wrong aswell.

Rick

ps i supose less weights has to be a good thing.

They look great mate, good job you have the patience to persist in polishing!

I'd be more than happy if i had the outcome you have had. Did you end up buying one of the polishing kits in the end or did you decide to use autosol in the end? (sorry if you mentioned it, if you have i missed it)

It was a painfully slow process! lol

Yeah I used a polishing kit in the end. It was just a basic one, with2 polishing wheels and 2 different grades of polishing blocks, but worked a treat.

They've turned out really well.

I might treat the GF's wheels to a polish after seeing such a great result.
