Whatever you buy make sure it's not cheap crap stuff, (like screwdrivers from Poundland) just put a little bit more money extra for good quality stuff. It doesn't need to be really expensive. Screw fix are pretty good for hand tools and power tools. Aldi sell 1mm cutting discs for grinders which are exceptional, and their air tools are okay. Also try and get some shelving, this gets everything off the floor and saves you loads of room.
I find that having room to work on something a god send, being all cramped up is a shit. and have a piece of sponge on carpet for ya knees. *happy*

Having good storage space is a real must. Its really shit having stuff on the floor and in your way.
The one whole side of my workshop is selving but its still not enough.

Compressor.....

Apart from the angle grinder and welding, I use air tools for just about everything else and obviously the compressor is needed for spraying.

Totally knackered at the moment as my big compressor failed just over a week ago (I haven't dug my way into that corner of the garage to find out why yet) and am currently relying on my old little one....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Those tools take big air mines a 150 litre. I would go no smaller.

You are so wrong

1) Classic Steam Train Calender
2) Intercom to wife to make a brew (an old baby monitor is perfect)
3) For biscuits see 2

stoke-on-trent

theres a massive flaw with your plan though ben....the wife coming to the garage could start nagging at you to stop working on the car and go and spend time with them....

Perhaps he could rig up some sort of miniature railway between the house and garage.

This way he can get on the intercom then send the train to pick said brew up.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

hence the instilation of a Kettle is required - one less excuse for wife to enter the garage, after all a mans house is his castle but his garage is his sanctuary!

those little hang on rack box's for nuts and bolts...which i add should be full at all times!!
a decent vice and very steady bench bolted to the floor and wall if required, bench grinder/wire wheel, good for shaping and cleaning up parts.
Heating!

decent flooring

I quite like the wife poking her nose in though, is that not normal?

The girlfriend of the tme came into the garage to see what was so important that I spent so much time out there. A lot of naughtyness insued.

She was wearing those killer heels and no undies*happy*

Should we have a readers wife section?
