My Dads car is a 98 mustang cobra, white green shelby stripe and black silohette of a horse, we havnet been out much over the last couple of years due to all sorts of things, mainly money at the mo no real sponsorship, but hoping to do some test days this year atleast. Then once I get dad happy Im going to rent it off him, our car was built with Andy's assistantance too, good friend of ours.

Hi guys, just to get back to the 60 foot times. Some of the really fast FWD drag cars here use a type of wheelie bar to help with weight transfer, and keep the cars nose planted while launching.
"So wat we gonna do tonight Brain?"

proper drag slicks are avaliable in our sizes. :) many people state-side can go to 1.7 second 60ft's (in hondas) without there asistance(wheelie bars). so there(wheelie bars) only needed as an icing on the cake type thing. if you want to use proper slicks you need the correct suspenion to make the most of them.

well the only problem with full wrinkle wall slicks is in 13 inch trim they tend to be quite tall so oviously you have to have the gearing right for the height of the tyre!!

lol ever wonderd what 1.413 feels like?? ive felt 1.54s....but it felt like I could do better... With regard to fwd...I know one of the fastest cars about is in the 1.5x range on slicks. Grip is one aspect of a launch like that.......but you also need to commit fairly hard, and it really doesnt sound nice inside the car lol, nor does it do any part of the car any favours. 9.85 @ 145mph

my best 60ft last year at mini in the park was 2.61, standard gears and a 3.1 fd. That was non turbo 1293 @ 90hp. It was just my luck to be put up against the yellow 7.2 V8 mini on my second ever 1/4 mile run! I was struggling on the day launching, I was either spinning up or not revving enough and bogging down and having to dip the clutch and re-launch again to try and get anywhere lol On 25th Sep, 2009 mini13 said:

A mate of mine is pulling 1.6 60ft in his renault 5 using 10 inch wide MH slicks. It's had a lot of suspension set up though. I know the jap cars are pulling awesome times. I know I was pulling 2.3 2.4 last year on a open diff. I hope to get them down a bit more this year. |

Given my nature...I find it incredibly hard to launch, with my right foot planted firmly to the floor. I always lift off a bit.... I know plenty who will literally do a 7000rpm, WOT dump. Ouch !!! Ive tried a little over 5000rpm...and almost WOT. But I always lift a bit coming off the line. Having the confidence that it will grip is also important. Until I used the ET Streets, I never did. Although the MT DR's did grip incredibly well too when the track was right. Managed a few 1.7x on those. On 13th May, 2009 Jay#2 said:
