I think I understand. Too much metal in the way of the flywheel/transfer gears, so it need to be machined back to allow fitting. I had the other end of the negine in my head...

So you'd just need to get them machined as a pair to the right i.d. for the mini crank.

no it is the right size. its the back part of the cap that is different because of the flywheel being there and the way it attaches to the gearbox. I will try and find a pic.

Just like droping the metro lump int o a mini so long as you have all the missing parts to compolete a mini install this engine block should fit right in.

However its the head you really want to get your hands on from what I understand the Maestro castings were not 12g940 but the casting used delivered superior performance over the 12g940 casting.

The inlet manifold will give you better power low down in the rev range, but as you are aware your bulkhead is going buy buy to get that beasty in

I'm no expert, but I'm sure this is bollocks as I bought a Maestro head last week from a guy that rallies them. It's a 12G940 and identical to the MG Metro item.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Funny, my mate builds grass track minis was the one who pointed this little fact out to me. I have no reason to doubt him.
