Doesnt matter where the fan is.

Air goes through the rad, and exits via the inner wing. But puller fans tend to be more efficient than pushers.

And generally speaking, once over about 30mph, there should be sufficient airflow that a fan would never be needed.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

As requested a picture of the fan on the inner wing. As with everything an amount of adaption is required to get a better fit. The fan kit came with a large (and heavy) steel spacer ring which placed the fan too near to the tyre on full lock, I made up an alloy spacer ring that mounts the fan a couple of mm off the inner wing.

Keith, nearly a year later I'm going to have a go at modding my 2 piece cowling to allow me to remove the rad without taking it off first.

I was thinking of getting hold of a modern cowling with the single bolt bottom and cutting it up to pair it to my existing top section and remove the front bottom section wide enough to slip past the fan, so that I undo the bolt I can remove it in one section.

Can I please ask how you secure the rad at the engine mount end.

Thanks
Graham

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I just made it as an exact replica of the factory steel cowling, which is a nightmare to bolt up!! Without the fan in the way you can unbolt the radiator from the cowling, take the top half off and maneuver the rad out quite easily. I'll try and get a photo next time I'm at the workshop.

I know Keith they are a real pain for my hands.. I think I'm going to have to break out the sledge hammer and have a go at making cross between new and old.. with a cut out so I can slide it past the fan.. I doubt it will be as good as yours.

Question :

Why going for the round shape if there is no mechanical fan ?

I mean, the way I see it, the round shape is there only to enhance the efficiency of the mechanical fan ...

Standart electrical fan vs Kenlowe, what do you reckon ?

I fancy getting rid of my fan but I fear getting rid of my car's ability to cool in the mean time ...

Rusty by nature
