that does make sense, thank you for your replies!

Out of curiosity, that video by Steve Benross on you tube says he has 184bhp on 12psi of boost on a 1380........now that is pretty impressive and to be honest i don't think i have seen a 1293 producing that power at that level of boost!

How low does the compression ratio need to be to allow you to run, say, 20psi on a 1380??? i can't imagine what the power figure would be if 184bhp is achieved at 12psi......

Oh and TurboPhil, on your website, what is the maximum chamber volume you can have on one of your cylinder heads???

Surely someone is still supplying 73.5mm pistons for turbo applications??????

Thanks again for all your help,

Mike

Interesting news indeed!

I was planning on using 73.5mm acralites on my 1380 supercharged engine :(

I guess I'll be going 1293 after all then!

Seem to get contradicting answers when trying to order Accralite.

A few months ago, I asked about the 73.5's on here and everone said they weren't available.

I rang Listers and asked if they were doing a run of 73.5mm 18cc's anytime soon and they had 2 sets in stock.

I bought one of them. If I had the money I would have bought both sets.

If they are so rare anyone want a set of 73.5mm 18cc Accralites? £1000 *tongue*

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

We've just heard so much about your car, and how fast it is we want to see it run, matt woods does some quick times in his car and thats pretty heavy too. You obviosuly have more power than him as he doesn't have the power to pull 142.1mph. With all this in mind, there is a 13sec run in your car, or maybe even a 12??

not sure, it was in retro cars when they where at brunters, but it was a lot less than 142.1mph, we know matt has over 300bhp, so you must have CRAZY power.

Benross, mate you have to come to MITP, it would be great to see your car there and what it could do, sure you could put nic in his palce*wink*, As Jim said i only managed 131 at brunters. I wasn't able to run my full power but that probably wouldn't have helpped get to your speeds. Do you know what power you are running now? got to be 250+ i would have thought.

I don't think benross has gas, I think it's just turbo, just a bloody good engine and sorted head.
